Despite what the term “reconditioned” might imply, these batteries (we call them “recons”) have not been rebuilt. They are simply older batteries that still have some life left in them. We actively purchase recons from other dealers who either don’t have the know-how to get more life out of these batteries, or else they just want to sell them as junk in order to get a little money from them.
Our recons are no more than 3 years old. Our experienced staff recharge them, run them each through an extensive testing process, clean them up, and then mark them as reconditioned. We only guarantee these batteries for 90 days; however, they will generally last for a full year or more. Reconditioned batteries are a good choice for a vehicle that you are about to sell or trade in. They are not intended for use in vehicles that you plan on keeping for more than a few months.
Most sizes of batteries are generally available in our store and all prices include the core exchange. If you intend to keep your car for more than a month or two and money is tight, we would recommend that you purchase our e3 Green Battery rather than a reconditioned battery. The e3 Green Battery only costs $20 more than our recons, lasts for 3-5 years, and comes with a much better warranty.
